Domestic Violence Call — Jan. 16
Neighbors reported hearing a verbal argument between a couple at the Townhouse Apartments. The dispute reportedly involved burnt bacon. Police responded, the situation was resolved and the couple was referred to Title IX. Title IX requires that all individuals are supported in investigations.
Liquor Violation — Jan. 18
A community advisor conducting rounds found a woman passed out in a bathroom in Pearce Hall. Medical personnel responded, provided care and transported her to the hospital.
Malicious Mischief — Jan. 20
Damage to a podium on the second floor of Senior Hall and a whiteboard on the first floor was reported around 6 p.m. The case was closed, and no suspects were identified.
Assault — Jan. 22
A student on the hockey team reported being assaulted by a player from Western Washington University during a Jan. 19 game at the URC. The incident remains under investigation.
Cyber Harassment — Jan. 24
A female reported receiving a message from an anonymous sender. No suspects were identified. She was advised to contact Cheney Police if the harassment continues.
Suspicious Person/Theft — Jan. 28
A theft was reported at the PUB involving an unknown male suspect. Witnesses said the man had taken items from the food court on multiple days without paying for them. In other incidents, a man — possibly the same person — was contacted by police on the third floor of the PUB, but police couldn’t determine whether he’d committed a crime. Police asked him to leave.
Malicious Mischief — Jan. 29
Graffiti was reported outside Patterson Hall. The case was closed and referred to maintenance.
Vehicle Collision — Jan. 29
A student and faculty member separately reported a collision near the music building around 1:30 p.m. The faculty member expressed concern about their vehicle being towed and left to attend class. The student reported exchanging information and said she suspected the faculty member may have been intoxicated. Police were unable to establish probable cause, and the faculty member left campus.
Liquor Violation — Jan. 30
A caller reported that a friend was highly intoxicated, fell and became unconscious in Snyamncut. Police and medics responded, and the person was taken into protective custody and referred to Student Rights and Responsibilities.
Liquor Violation — Feb. 1
A complainant reported a woman vomiting in Snyamncut. The woman, who is not an EWU student, told police her drink may have been laced at an off-campus party. She was transported to the hospital, and the case was closed.

A caller reported a subject throwing up in a bathroom in Streeter Hall. The individual denied drinking but showed signs of intoxication. She declined medical attention and was referred to Student Rights and Responsibilities.
Malicious Mischief — Feb. 2
Damage to a vehicle headlight was reported in Lot 3. The incident was considered suspicious due to a similar report in another area. The case remains under investigation.
Liquor Violation — Feb. 3
During the Stinky Sneaker event involving Spokane Valley schools a high school student was reported to have alcohol in a water bottle and to be sharing it with others. The incident was referred to the student’s high school, and no criminal investigation was conducted.
Swatting — Feb. 4
Police responded to a report from Pearce Hall claiming a subject attempted to kill a roommate. The call was determined to be false. The university issued campus messaging addressing the fake report.
