He states on the ballot that “My goal is simple: ‘build a more responsive, personable, transparent, and effective ASEWU that truly represents every Eagle.’” He plans to achieve this goal by applying what he learns from studying leadership as a graduate student next year.

Stephens served as the Senate Chair for Campus Life this school year. The ballot says she is running for EVP to be able to devote time to “welcoming new members into ASEWU, supporting our returning members, and making decisive action with the support of Eastern students.” She plans to host a week of spirit-driven events in winter and improve ASEWU’s ability to gather student feedback.

Senate Chair for Diversity and Social Justice
This contested race is between two candidates who will be new to ASEWU.

Chanel Gonzales
Gonzales told the Easterner “My mission to promote a greater sense of community through engagement and advocacy will continue to be a goal and passion of mine.” Her goal is to address the concerns that EWU students have about campus life by examining their root causes. She also wants to provide space for students to interact directly with communities they identify with. She stated, “On my flyers I promote that I am a ‘person with the people always,’ and that will remain true no matter the outcome of this election!”
Senate Chair for Student Involvement
