The Eags suited up in black for a showdown on the red turf last weekend against Sacramento State.

Sacramento State beat EWU 52-28 in Cheney on Saturday Oct. 15.

The unbeaten Hornets move on to 6-0 as the Eagles fall to 1-5 on the season.  Sacramento State punched their ticket to the number two spot in the FCS national rankings.  The Eagles are off to their worst start since 2011.

Despite the loss, Gunner Talkington (26-45) had a career-high 370 passing yards and three touchdown passes.  Efton Chism III had his best game of the season as well, catching two touchdown passes among his nine catches for 129 yards.

After going down 21-0 after one quarter of play, the Eagles picked up steam as Talkington led multiple scoring drives in the second quarter to even the game at 21.
