After being temporarily closed this summer, the aquatics center is open again and is now offering slacklining over the pool. The aquatics center underwent some maintenance changes this summer that included adding mats to the changing room, correcting the pool area floors to prevent water ponds, and repainting the majority of the facility. The building is, for the most part, up and running once again. Manager Greg Schmidt still hopes to replace the diving board towers. For now the diving area is closed because of safety reasons. The rest of the pool is open, and the new slacklining activity will be held every Friday night from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Slacklining is the activity of walking across a suspended piece of nylon webbing that is anchored between two points. According to Schmidt, “that’s a designated Friday thing now.”
