EWU gets new Registrar

By Daisy Garcia, Staff Writer

EWU is welcoming Angela Anderson as the new registrar beginning on Dec. 7. She is coming from Northeastern Junior College in Colorado where she worked as Registrar, Director of Human Resources, Dean of Enrollment Services and Associate Registrar.

Anderson was brought on after previous registrar Erin Morgan moved to Seattle Pacific University to be closer to her relatives. Anderson will officially start working for EWU on Dec.7, while Debbie Fockler is currently serving as the Interim Registrar.

As registrar, Anderson is an official of the university’s Enrollment Services team who maintains student records. Student records are of high importance when official publications need to be mailed out, grades need to be dug from the archives and personal or academic records are called into question.

The job requires organizational leadership skills that make the task of managing important files high priority; this position is now permanently filled thanks to Anderson. She has an Associate’s degree from Northeastern Junior College plus a B.A. and a Master of Liberal Studies in Organization Leadership from Fort Hays State University in Kansas.
