It was a back and forth game at Stewart Stadium in Ogden before Weber State shut out the Eagles offense in the second half.  The Eagles lost their fourth straight game on Saturday against the Wildcats 21-45.

Gunner Talkington (21-31) led multiple scoring first half drives, throwing for 198 yards and a touchdown pass to Freddie Roberson.  Bronson Barron (16-22) had 237 passing yards and a touchdown pass to Ty MacPherson for Weber State.

Tuna Altahir ran for 81 yards and a rushing touchdown.  Damon Bankston had 94 rushing yards and a touchdown.  Bankston was one of three running backs to reach the end zone for the Wildcats.

Talkingtons fumble late in the third quarter proved to be the biggest mistake in the game. The Wildcats scored 10 points in just over 30 seconds in the final minutes of the quarter as a result of the fumble.

EWU hopes to turn the corner in week six as they set the stage at The Inferno. The Eagles next game is at home against Sacramento State on Saturday, Oct. 15.

The Hornets are undefeated on the season and are number five in the FCS.  Their 5-0 record is Sacramento States best since 1991.  They are the only team in Division 1 football to not trail in a game.

EWU nearly beat third ranked Montana State earlier in the season in a wild battle at The Inferno.  This will be the third home game of five on the season for the Eagles.

The Eagles will attempt to beat a top 10 FCS for the first time as they face yet another daunting challenge.
