Windstorm closes campus, alters bus schedules

By Kalli Wolf and Jaclyn Archer, for The Easterner

Due to record breaking winds in the Inland Northwest, EWU closed the Cheney and Riverpoint campuses at 3 p.m. on Nov. 17. Following the damage and power outages, classes have been suspended for Nov. 18 as well. According to KHQ, those needing battery life for phones and laptops can go to the Shadle Park library to access free Wi-Fi. The Starbucks in Shadle Center and Market and Garland Starbucks will be available as well. For those in the Spokane Valley, Barnes and Noble is available, as well as the Starbucks on Sullivan and the Spokane Valley library on Main Street. Spokane Transit is operating with detours – routes are available on the Spokane Transit website – and the 66 Route from Cheney to Downtown Spokane is operating the non-school weekday schedule. Downtown Cheney also has power. Classes are to resume as scheduled Nov. 19.
