There have been 11 playoff games on Roos field since the Eagles won the National Championship in 2010. EWU has won seven of those games, losing three times in the semifinals. This year the Eagles start their playoff run at home again, with Southland Conference champion Nichols State coming to Cheney for the first time, in what will be the second ever meeting between the two schools.
2010 - National Champions—EWU opened its FCS championship run with a win over Southeast Missouri State, and then beat North Dakota State in overtime. They advanced to the championship game for the first time in program history against Villanova, and came back to beat Delaware 20-19, after being down 19 points in the third quarter.
